What to Expect
Initial Consultation
Patients will establish care through MaineGeneral’s Harold Alfond Center for Cancer Care and meet with an oncology specialist to review their diagnosis, discuss treatment options and develop an individualized care plan.
Ongoing Care at St. Mary’s
Many ongoing oncology services, including medical staff visits and infusion treatments, will be provided at St. Mary’s in Lewiston, allowing patients to receive care closer to home whenever possible.
Coordinated Support
Cancer care involves more than treatment alone. Our team works closely with patients, families and referring medical staff to coordinate care, answer questions and connect patients with supportive resources throughout the treatment journey.
Transportation Assistance
We understand that transportation can be a challenge during cancer treatment. St. Mary’s will work with patients to help coordinate available transportation resources when appropriate.
