Substance use and addiction pertains to a complex condition that can have deep psychological roots and is influenced by one’s environment and genetics. Often this involves the use or uncontrolled use of one or more harmful substances such as alcohol, tobacco and/or prescriptions or illicit drugs. The use of these substances is usually triggered by a need and escape from discomfort and pain, whether physical or emotional. Fortunately, with prescribed treatment to address behavioral and mental health issues, patients can recover from addiction to harmful substances.

St. Mary’s offers outpatient treatment for substance use and addiction through its affiliation with Community Clinical Services (CCS), a Federally Qualified Health Center and full-service behavioral health practice.

School Based Health Centers help children succeed in school and in life by keeping them healthy and ready to learn. We believe by focusing on promoting healthy lifestyles and identifying illnesses early on, we can help prevent more serious illnesses later. By delivering quality health care to adolescents and children in their school environments, we are making health care available to many children who otherwise would not have access to it.
