Dr. Torres is a board-certified Occupational and Environmental Medicine physician, earning his certification in 1996. His educational background includes a Doctor of Medicine from the University of Virginia School of Medicine and a Master of Public Health in Epidemiology from the University of Massachusetts School of Public Health.
Throughout his tenure as medical director of WorkMed Occupational Health Services, Dr. Torres played a pivotal role in providing comprehensive occupational health services to the Lewiston/Auburn areas and surrounding communities. While no longer serving as medical director, he still contributes in many ways to the WorkMed program. In addition to his professional achievements, Dr. Torres is deeply engaged in community service. He is an active member of professional organizations such as the New England College of Occupational and Environmental Medicine and the American College of Occupational and Environmental Medicine, where he contributes his expertise to promote health and safety in workplaces.
Dr. Torres’s commitment to serving his community extends beyond his medical practice. He has served as President of the Yarmouth Colts Soccer Club, dedicating his time to youth development and fostering a sense of community through sports. Furthermore, Dr. Torres has been instrumental in fundraising efforts for organizations such as the Maine Children’s Cancer Program and Safe Passage, demonstrating his compassion and dedication to improving the lives of others.
