Healing Care for the Whole Person

At St. Mary’s Health System our Mission is to provide healing care for the whole person in service to all in our communities, which is why offering a healing presence and guidance to support the well-being of patients, their families and health care staff is very important to us.

The entire Mission team wholeheartedly believes an integral part of care is meeting the spiritual and religious needs of our patients regardless of their beliefs, traditions or spirituality. We offer patients appropriate prayer, comfort and support to help facilitate healing, recovery and peace.

Consult not your fears, but your hopes and dreams. Think not about your frustrations, but about your unfulfilled potential. Spiritual Care and Chaplaincy Services

The Marcotte Chapel at St. Mary’s Residences is located on the fourth floor and is accessible by the elevators at d’Youville Pavilion. Catholic liturgies are celebrated in this Chapel and it is available throughout the day for prayer and reflection.

Mass is celebrated at 9:30 AM in the St. Mary’s Marcotte Chapel. The Mass can be viewed in patient rooms on Channel 2.

A small meditation room is located in the hallway between the Emergency Room and the Operating Room at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center. This meditation room offers a quiet refuge for patients and families.

Celebrating our Heritage and Mission

In 1888, the Sisters of Charity of Saint-Hyacinthe established a healing ministry to meet the needs of this community. In the spirit of the Sisters and their foundress, St. Marguerite d’Youville, St. Mary’s Health System continues its unwavering commitment to provide holistic care, offered with respect and compassion, for all in our community.

Each year, we celebrate our heritage and founding during Mission Week. It’s a special celebration that honors our employees and includes reflection, receptions with their founding orders and volunteer activities. Most of the facilities in the Covenant Health system celebrate the legacy of St. Marguerite d’Youville, the Sisters of Charity of Montreal and St. Hyacinthe, Canada, “Grey Nuns”.
