Expanding Must-Needed Behavioral and Mental Healthcare

To address the increasing demand for behavioral and mental health services, and close a considerable gap in the continuum of care for patients, St. Mary’s Health System now offers expanded services to its community, which include:

A New Day Hospital Program

This program is specifically designed for adults 18 and older who need more support than traditional outpatient therapy, but do not require inpatient care. It also serves individuals who have recently been discharged and would benefit from continued support in a structured, less intensive setting.

Patient treatment plans include evaluation, care coordination, individual and group therapy sessions, medication, education to promote long-term wellness and more. The staff also offers continued support to patients once they successfully complete the intensive program.

A Re-Imagined Center for Recovery

The Center for Recovery is more focused than ever on helping people take their first steps toward a lasting recovery by ensuring treatment is accessible, flexible and completely patient centered. Evaluations are immediate, treatment is evidence-based, and the compassionate team will expertly guide each patient’s journey to recovery.

“St. Mary’s care services help meet the mental health and substance use disorder treatment needs of both adolescents and adults. We’re mindful of the fact that the more support services we offer, the healthier our community will be,” says, Greg Bowers, vice president of behavioral health.

Sally Cooper, MD, chief of department of psychiatry and interim chief medical officer, adds, “Every day we strive to ensure patients have convenient access to care from highly-trained providers who appreciate that mental health and physical health are inseparable – and that to be fully healthy, both must be a priority.
