Joan Flint, MD is a physician specializing in wound care and hyperbaric medicine at St Mary’s Wound Care and Hyperbaric Center. She brings more than 14 years of clinical experience with a background in emergency medicine and a strong focus on collaborative, patient centered care.
Dr. Flint earned her medical degree after beginning her healthcare career as an emergency department scribe, an experience that inspired her to pursue medicine. She completed her residency in emergency medicine at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia, and has since applied that broad clinical expertise to the treatment of complex wounds and hyperbaric medicine. Her additional interests include wilderness medicine.
She values building relationships with patients, listening to their stories, and working together to solve problems and promote long term health.
Dr. Flint lives in southern Maine in a family home that has been built and cared for by generations since 1785. Outside of work, she enjoys sharing her home with many dogs.
